Needs Assessment for EmpowerHer Future Programme
“Understanding Needs. Building Futures.”
A comprehensive needs assessment involving military widows to identify barriers to economic empowerment and design sustainable livelihood interventions.
The EmpowerHer Future Programme began with an extensive needs assessment conducted among military widows at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Ikeja.
Through interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, Ese-Tonia Foundation engaged 56 widows to understand their economic, social, and emotional challenges.
The assessment revealed that most participants had never received structured support and expressed strong interest in vocational skills training and business empowerment opportunities.
Following the assessment, the Foundation developed training frameworks, selected vendors, established monitoring systems, and prepared for programme implementation.
This process laid the foundation for the EmpowerHer Future Programme, which now supports widows through vocational training, mentorship, and economic empowerment initiatives.
Children's Day Celebration Outreach 2025
“Celebrating Childhood. Creating Joy.”
A Children’s Day celebration that provided fun, care, educational activities, and welfare support to children at Little Saints Orphanage.
To commemorate Children's Day 2026, Ese-Tonia Foundation organized a special outreach for 60 children at Little Saints Orphanage in Lagos.
The event featured games, dance competitions, face painting, football activities, mascots, bouncing castles, PlayStation games, and interactive entertainment. Children also received hygiene kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and water bottles.
The programme provided refreshments, snacks, ice cream, and cakes while creating a joyful environment that promoted confidence, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing.
The outreach reflects the Foundation's commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children experience moments of happiness, belonging, and hope.
Back-to-School Initiative 2025
“Every Child Deserves to Learn.”
Educational support outreach providing school supplies and welfare assistance to children in orphanage homes.
In partnership with Floe Foundation, Ese-Tonia Foundation implemented the Back-to-School Initiative across two orphanage homes in Lagos.
The initiative supported 73 children with school bags, lunch bags, notebooks, water bottles, school shoes, stationery, and other learning materials. Feeding support and welfare assistance were also provided.
The programme included motivational sessions, hygiene education, games, and engagement activities designed to encourage learning and boost confidence.
The initiative helped reduce educational barriers while creating opportunities for children to return to school with dignity and hope.
Second Back-to-School Initiative 2025
“Supporting Education. Restoring Hope.”
An educational support outreach reaching children across four orphanage homes in Lagos State.
Ese-Tonia Foundation conducted its second Back-to-School Initiative across four orphanages in Lagos, supporting 64 children and 40 caregivers.
Educational supplies distributed included school bags, water bottles, shoes, pens, pencils, and other learning materials.
The outreach also included educational talks, refreshments, encouragement sessions, and interactions with caregivers and orphanage staff.
The programme identified additional needs such as sponsorship, mentorship, feeding support, and long-term educational assistance, reinforcing the Foundation's commitment to vulnerable children.
International Day of the Girl Child – Sickle Cell Warriors Outreach
“Empowering Girls. Supporting Warriors.”
A back-to-school and health support initiative for girls living with sickle cell disorder.
To commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, Ese-Tonia Foundation organized an outreach for girls living with sickle cell disorder at the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria.
The initiative supported 63 beneficiaries through the distribution of educational materials, health supplies, routine medications, and school essentials.
Activities included health education, mentorship sessions, games, motivational talks, and empowerment activities designed to encourage resilience and educational achievement.
The programme reduced financial pressure on families while promoting confidence, inclusion, and wellbeing among participants.
World Orphans Day Outreach 2025
“Giving Hope. Sharing Love.”
A welfare outreach providing food, clothing, and emotional support to orphaned children.
Ese-Tonia Foundation commemorated World Orphans Day through an outreach at Home of God's Grace Orphanage.
The initiative supported 59 orphaned children through the distribution of food supplies, household items, clothing, refreshments, and welfare materials.
Items distributed included rice, beans, garri, spaghetti, oil, detergents, clothing, and other essential items.
The outreach created memorable experiences for the children while helping to address immediate welfare needs and promoting hope, education, and self-worth.
The programme reinforced the Foundation's commitment to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable children and strengthening community support systems.
Back-to-School Initiative 2026 (Phase One)
“More Than School Supplies. A Day of Joy, Confidence and Support.”
The first phase of Ese-Tonia Foundation's 2026 Back-to-School Initiative brought together 50 children living with sickle cell disorder and their families for a day of school support, games, fun and care in partnership with Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria.
On 3 September 2026, Ese-Tonia Foundation held the first phase of its 2026 Back-to-School Initiative in partnership with Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria, reaching 50 children living with sickle cell disorder, alongside eight siblings who joined them for the day.
Each child received essential back-to-school items, while the day also created space for something just as important: fun. From games and dancing to the bouncing castle and mascot, the children spent the day playing, laughing and enjoying themselves before the new school term.
The outreach also extended support to families, with selected caregivers receiving food packages based on household need. With the support of our sponsors and partners, Phase 1 was a reminder that preparing a child for school can be about more than supplies. It can also be about creating moments of joy, confidence and belonging.
